We woke up super early on day two & headed to the legendary Boiling River Hot Springs! It was a gorgeous drive… We, of course, took a back road from just east of Bozeman all the way to Gardiner, MT, where the northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park is.
Once we reached the parking area, we bundled up and battled freezing cold & windy (ok… not that freezing cold, but quite windy) conditions to reach the incredible Boiling River…. See journal entry below with the specifics:
The hike in….
Lots of pictures to show how beautiful it really is!
On the way back out, we were lucky enough to see elk! It was the first time I’ve ever seen them so close and in person!
Once home, we took a nap… Hot water really takes it out of you! That afternoon we headed first to the most amazing sushi restaurant EVER!!! Dave’s Sushi was INCREDIBLE! (See pics below)…. The rolls on the right were topped with LIGER sauce. Yum.
Plonk Wine Bar was next! The GFC was amazing… It had Basil in it. I have never had a cocktail with basil, but there’s a reason why it’s called a great f!?&*& cocktail. I also had the Snowbunny martini that was incredible!!!
Then we spent the rest of the evening just doing art & relaxing! See below:
